As the holy month of Ramzan approaches, the city of Hyderabad is preparing for its famous haleem sales. This delicacy, widely enjoyed during Iftar after the day-long fast, is a staple in the Ramzan diet. However, this year has seen a significant increase in haleem prices due to rising cost of mutton .
Last year, a plate of haleem was available for around Rs 280. Currently, the price has increased to Rs 300 per plate. Despite the price hike, the love for haleem remains strong, and people continue to buy it in large quantities.
The demand for mutton haleem has also seen a spike due to the impact of bird flu, which has led to a decline in chicken haleem sales. As a result, haleem enthusiasts are increasingly opting for the mutton variety.
The holy month of Ramzan is expected to begin on March 2, contingent on the sighting of the crescent moon on March 1. As the city gears up for this period, the soaring prices of haleem remain a talking point among residents.
