Yoga Acharya Anjana Tripathi honoured by Shankaracharya

Metro India News | VARANASI : Renowned yoga practitioner Anjana Tripathi was felicitated by Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth upon her return to Kashi after receiving the prestigious Shri B.K.S. Iyengar Yogashree Award at the Yoga Shakti Mahotsav 2026 in New Delhi. The event was held at the Constitution Club of India, where Tripathi also received the Guest of Honor recognition. She was the only yoga practitioner representing Uttar Pradesh at the event.

Hailing from Kashi, Tripathi has earned recognition for her contributions to yoga and has received several honours, including the Yogaratna title, Mrs Yogini of India recognition and the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Iconic Award. During the felicitation ceremony, Shankaracharya honoured her with an angavastram, a rudraksha garland and prasad. Expressing her happiness at receiving his blessings, Tripathi said the gesture had filled her with renewed confidence and positive energy.

She added that the blessings would motivate her to achieve greater milestones in the field of yoga. Shankaracharya emphasized the respect accorded to women in Vedic traditions and Indian culture. He said society has a collective responsibility to honor women who achieve distinction through their talent and dedication.
