District Collector Haritha said on Thursday that special focus is being given to urban cleanliness, controlling illegal sand mining and rectification of voters’ list. While taking part in various events across the district, she made important suggestions to the officials. The Collector, along with other officials and municipal councilors inspected the road between Rajiv Chowk and Raj talkies Chourastha and called for taking special steps for keeping the town clean. She instructed that sewage drains should be cleaned daily and wet and dry waste should be collected separately.
She ordered Municipal Commissioner Tirupati to impose a fine on the owner of Gurukrupa Tiffin Center for dumping sewage water and used plates on the road. She appealed to the public to cooperate by not throwing plastic covers and bottles on the roads. The Collector warned that strict action would be taken if anyone engages in illegal sand and soil transportation. During her inspection of ponds in Gannaram Mandav, Aregood, and Anukoda villages under Kagaznagar Mandal, she checked three tractors transporting soil at Village No. 12 in Nazrul Nagar.
As the vehicles lacked proper documents, she instructed revenue officials to seize the tractors and shift them to the police station. She emphasized that necessary permissions from the concerned departments must be obtained for soil and sand transportation. The Collector later reviewed the construction of the Indira Mahila Shakti Bhavan (District Women’s Federation Building) being built at an estimated cost of Rs 6 crore in Janakapuram, district headquarters.
The Collector said that the Special Summary Revision of the electoral roll would be carried out in a systematic and coordinated manner with officials. After attending a video conference conducted by the Election Commission of India, she informed that training would be given to booth-level officers from the 15th to the 24th of this month. She directed officials to visit door-to-door, collect enumeration forms and upload them in the BLO app. She mentioned that there are 320 polling stations in Sirpur constituency and 358 in Asifabad constituency, and instructed that the rationalization process of these polling stations should be taken up effectively.
