Bhatti pushes for revenue growth targets

Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday directed officials to focus on additional revenue mobilisation and ensure that collections meet the targets set in the State Budget 2026–27.

Chairing the Resource Mobilisation Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting at the Telangana Secretariat, Bhatti said strengthening revenue sources was crucial for economic growth and improving the State’s financial position. He instructed departments to strictly follow timelines and take effective measures to prevent revenue leakages.

The meeting, attended by IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, reviewed revenue generation progress across key departments including Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), HMDA, Industries, Excise, Mining, Revenue, Transport, Stamps and Registration, and Commercial Taxes.

Bhatti directed officials to make optimal use of available resources and explore new avenues for revenue generation. Special focus was laid on land monetisation and land pooling initiatives across the State.

Officials presented plans to utilise government land assets under HMDA limits, following transparent models such as the Uppal Bhagayat land pooling project. The Deputy Chief Minister instructed district collectors of Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri to identify government lands and examine possibilities for land pooling.

He also stressed better coordination among departments to achieve financial goals and strengthen revenue mobilisation.

Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Planning Secretary Gaurav Uppal and senior officials attended the meeting.
