The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a satirical digital movement led by unemployed youth, is witnessing growing support in the undivided Karimnagar district, with around 9,000 people reportedly joining as members. Political observers say the trend reflects rising frustration among young people over unemployment, recruitment delays and examination-related issues.

Initially launched as a social media meme, the campaign has evolved into a nationwide online movement highlighting concerns such as unemployment and competitive examination paper leaks. The movement gained momentum after social media posts claimed that unemployed youth had been compared to "cockroaches" during court proceedings, triggering widespread criticism and debate online.

The campaign was launched on May 16, 2026, by Maharashtra-based digital creator Abhijeet Deepke through a post on X. In a satirical message, he invited unemployed youth who question the system to become members of the Cockroach Janta Party. The post quickly went viral, striking a chord with thousands of young people frustrated over limited job opportunities and alleged irregularities in recruitment.

The movement gained further traction following controversies surrounding the NEET examination paper leak and other recruitment issues. Many young people have since used the platform to express their dissatisfaction with the system. Within a short time, the campaign reportedly attracted millions of followers on Instagram, emerging as one of the country's fastest-growing digital movements.

Observers believe the increasing support for the movement in Karimnagar signals the growing influence of digital platforms in shaping youth opinion and political discourse. They say established political parties may need to address the concerns of unemployed youth more effectively to retain their support.
