Hollywood star Pamela says wealth and success can leave people feeling empty as she discusses her new film, Alma

Hollywood star Pamela Anderson, who plays a callous mother in Alma, has spoken about the darker side of fame and success. The former Baywatch star, who became one of the world’s most recognisable faces in the 1990s, said, “I do believe there’s this kind of emptiness that comes from wealth for no good reason.”

The new film explores themes such as sex and abuse, and Anderson acknowledged that it may not appeal to everyone. Speaking to People, she said, “It’s not going to be for everybody. People are going to have feelings about it. It’s not an easy ride. But that’s what the movie’s for.”

Rejects sex symbol tag

Pamela Anderson has revealed that she never liked being labelled a sex symbol. The actress, who rose to global fame as C.J. Parker in Baywatch during the 1990s, said the attention she received was often uncomfortable. Speaking on the How To Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast, Anderson said, “I don’t like being a sex symbol. I don’t think it’s very sexy. It brought a lot of attention I didn’t like.”
