Padma Bhushan awardee and Bharat Biotech founder, Dr. Krishna Ella, stated that thinking about science in a simple language can help discover the best solutions for the world. He made these remarks while speaking at the ‘GITAM Change Makers Series’, organized at GITAM University, Rudraram, Patancheru Mandal, Sangareddy district, on the occasion of National Science Day on Friday (February 28).
During the event, he shared his journey—from founding Bharat Biotech to developing revolutionary vaccines like Covaxin, Typbar TCV, and Rotavac—with the students in attendance. He emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of innovation that values imagination and practicality, encouraging young minds to observe their surroundings and ask questions.
Before his speech, Dr. Krishna Ella inaugurated the Multidisciplinary Unit of Research on Translational Initiatives established at GITAM. Later, GITAM President Bharat Mathukumilli and GITAM Chancellor Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan honored him. The event was attended by former IICT Director and GITAM Distinguished Professor Dr. Srivari Chandrasekhar, along with 550 students and researchers from ten leading colleges in the twin cities.
