On Maha Shivaratri, the Jana Sena Party on Sunday launched its active membership enrollment programme, with party president and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan formally inaugurating the initiative at the party’s central office in Mangalagiri.
Pawan Kalyan enrolled himself as the first active member and announced a donation of Rs 2 crore towards the membership campaign. Addressing party leaders and workers after the launch, he emphasized that individuals who deeply understand the party’s ideology and work in alignment with its principles and aspirations would be recognised as “Udyami”.
He further introduced new designations within the party structure to acknowledge various forms of contribution. Those who strengthen the party’s struggles, inspire the younger generation, and actively attract people towards the party’s ideology through membership mobilization will be honoured as “Sadhak.” Individuals who indirectly support the party’s public and political initiatives by contributing time, financial assistance, technical expertise, service, or intellectual support will be referred to as “Pradata,” he announced.
Highlighting the party’s growth trajectory, Pawan Kalyan recalled that Jana Sena began with just 150 members at its inception. During the first phase of active membership enrollment in 2021, around 90,000 members were registered. The number rose to six lakh ahead of the previous elections and further expanded to 12.98 lakh memberships after the polls. He noted that people from diverse backgrounds, including small business owners, daily wage workers, and educated youth, have actively participated in the party’s expansion.
“The party needs individuals who understand its ideology and are committed to advancing its goals,” he said, stressing that dedication to the party’s vision remains more important than mere numerical strength.
The programme was attended by Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar, Political Secretary to the Party President Pidugu Hariprasad, General Secretary Ram Talluri, and Programmes Management Committee Chairman Kalyanam Siva Srinivas, among other senior leaders.
Jana Sena marks first electoral success in Telangana, says Pawan Kalyan
Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Sunday described the party’s recent electoral victories in Telangana municipal elections as a historic first step on the soil where the party was originally conceived.
The Jana Sena Party secured victories in two wards in the recently concluded municipal polls in Telangana. Aaruri Vijayalakshmi won from Ward No. 14 in Nereducharla Municipality of Nalgonda district, while Aggu Sagar emerged victorious as a corporator in the Mancherial Municipal Corporation. Reacting to the results, Pawan Kalyan said the wins marked the party’s first electoral breakthrough in Telangana.
Reflecting on the party’s early days, he recalled that the initial phase was marked by uncertainty and numerous challenges, with doubts surrounding its future and little institutional support. Despite the difficulties, he said, the party survived on hope and the conviction of its ideological supporters. He credited women party workers and Jana Sena activists, inspired by the spirit of Rani Jhansi Lakshmibai, for sustaining the movement through turbulent times with determination and resilience.
Pawan Kalyan noted that the party had contested in 332 locations across Telangana and managed to secure one councillor and one corporator seat. Drawing a metaphor, he said that even a mighty tree begins as a small seed breaking through the soil, adding that every great victor once existed as a mere speck. The party’s journey in Telangana, he said, has begun with small yet significant steps that would inspire its future expansion.
Calling the victories a symbolic achievement on the land where Jana Sena was born, Pawan Kalyan expressed gratitude to the people of Telangana. In a statement, he offered heartfelt respects to the state, describing Telangana as a land rich in struggle, cultural traditions, and literary heritage, and said the party’s early successes would serve as a strong foundation for its future political journey in the region.
