The Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) has cracked an international online betting racket linked to the Dafabet platform, arresting 11 persons during a 15-day pan-India operation conducted across Delhi, Gujarat and Punjab.

According to CID officials, the accused allegedly operated a large betting network that generated illegal earnings of ₹8-10 lakh per day. As part of the investigation, authorities froze 46 mule bank accounts used to route betting proceeds and financial transactions connected to the racket.

The CID said the operation uncovered links to 225 complaints and 73 criminal cases registered in eight states across the country. Investigators found that the network was using multiple accounts and digital channels to facilitate online betting activities.

Officials revealed that Telangana CID has so far registered 414 cases related to online betting and identified 108 betting applications operating illegally. In coordination with internet service providers, 37 betting apps have been geofenced to restrict access within the state.

The department has also counselled 25 celebrities and social media influencers for allegedly promoting betting platforms. CID warned that strict legal action would be initiated against repeat offenders who continue to endorse such applications.

CID Director General Charu Sinha said Telangana is intensifying its crackdown on online betting syndicates and strengthening efforts to dismantle networks operating across India.
