Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday made a strong appeal for the NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh to remain united and politically cohesive for at least the next 15 years, asserting that only sustained stability can deliver Gujarat-style development and long-term prosperity to the state.
Addressing MLAs and MLCs at the NDA Legislative Party meeting held in the Assembly Committee Hall, the Chief Minister pointed out that long-term governance continuity was the foundation of Gujarat’s progress. “In Gujarat, the BJP has won five consecutive terms. Because of that continuity, development there has been systematic and sustainable. Andhra Pradesh too needs such a political environment. For the next 15 years, the three NDA partners must go to the people together and seek their mandate. Only then will we be able to transform the state completely,” he asserted.
He said public support for the NDA coalition had only increased since the elections and that the alliance must convert this goodwill into concrete governance outcomes. The Chief Minister issued clear directives to legislators on maintaining discipline and effectiveness inside the Assembly. “Every MLA must treat Assembly sessions with utmost seriousness. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., all members must be present in the House. I personally follow every discussion. Debates must be meaningful and focused on issues. Even if the opposition uses abusive language, we must maintain dignity and set an example,” Naidu said firmly.
He added that joint district-level meetings involving MLAs, MPs, Collectors and SPs would soon be held to resolve pending constituency issues on priority. “Identify unfinished works in your constituencies and submit them to me. We will complete them in a planned and time-bound manner,” he assured.
Chandrababu Naidu credited the Union government for playing a crucial role in Andhra Pradesh’s revival. “When we took charge, the state was almost on a financial ventilator. If we have been able to stabilise the economy, it is largely because of the support extended by the Centre,” he said. He highlighted that key projects like Amaravati and Polavaram would not have progressed without central funding.
“We are confident of completing the Polavaram project by June 2027 and dedicating it to the nation. That has become possible only due to the Centre’s cooperation,” he added. Referring to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Naidu said the Union government had even modified its policy to safeguard the institution. “As a result, the plant has posted a profit of ₹54 crore in a single month for the first time. This is a remarkable turnaround,” he observed.
The Chief Minister also urged legislators to adapt to changing times and embrace technology-driven governance. “Speak with subject knowledge in the Assembly and present your points clearly within 3 to 7 minutes. I record everything that is said in the House,” he remarked. Highlighting the growing interest among youth in advanced technologies, Naidu said over 1.6 lakh students from the state had applied for quantum computing courses. “This shows the aspiration of Andhra Pradesh youth. As leaders, we must think ahead and prepare the state for the future,” he added.
Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan strongly backed Naidu’s vision, stating that the NDA coalition would remain intact for the next 15 years. “We have jointly pulled the state out of five years of destruction under the YSRCP regime. This unity must continue for the sake of Andhra Pradesh’s future,” he said. He emphasised that any differences among alliance partners should be resolved internally and never allowed to affect governance.
