The Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team, Hyderabad, in collaboration with Chatrinaka Police, apprehended three interstate diversion gang involved in stealing gold ornaments by diverting the attention of victims. The accused, identified as Mohammed Sattar Ali, Md. Amir, and Md. Riyaz Malik, were found in possession of 57 grams of gold ornaments worth Rs. 4.85 lakhs.
The accused individuals, originally from Bihar and West Bengal, were engaged in polishing gold and silver ornaments while traveling from village to village. They had been previously detained under the PD Act in 2018 for committing similar offenses. Upon their release, they resumed their illegal activities and recently reunited in Telangana to continue their crimes.
In December 2024, they committed theft in Korutla, Jagtial District, stealing 2 Tulas of gold. On February 18, 2025, they committed another theft in Chatrinaka, Hyderabad, stealing a gold chain weighing about 4 Tulas. Following credible information, the police conducted a raid, resulting in their arrest and the recovery of the stolen gold ornaments.
The seized items and the accused have been handed over to the SHO, Chatrinaka PS, for further investigation. The arrests were made under the supervision of the Inspector of Police, South Zone and SIs N. Naveen, M. Mahesh, K. Narsimulu, and G. Anjaneyulu, along with staff of the South Zone Task Force and Chatrinaka Police, Hyderabad.
