Commissioner Ilambarithi instructed engineering officials to complete desilting work in low-lying areas before the monsoon and expedite the tender process

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be taking up desiliting of nalas, lakes restoration and monsoon preparedness activities. GHMC Commissioner Ilambarithi has directed officials to formulate a comprehensive Monsoon Action Plan.

The civic body identified 141 water logging points to ensure long-term solutions. He instructed engineering officials to complete desilting work in low-lying areas before the monsoon and expedite the tender process. He also stressed inter-departmental coordination to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow.

Focusing on lake conservation and flood prevention, the Commissioner directed lake authorities to implement proactive water management strategies to prevent overflow. Addressing fire safety during summer, he called for strict enforcement of fire safety norms in commercial and residential buildings.

He emphasized awareness campaigns for building owners and proactive inspections in high-risk storage warehouses and old structures. He directed GHMC, Hydra, and Fire Safety officials to take joint action to prevent fire incidents and ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.

The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Shiva Kumar Naidu, Zonal Commissioners Anurag Jayanti, Apoorva Chauhan, Hemant Keshav Patil, Venkanna, Ravi Kiran, CE Bhaskar Reddy, Ratnakar, Koteswara Rao, and other officials.
