Metro India News | Hyderabad : TPCC Vice-President and Sanathnagar Congress in-charge Dr Kota Neelima on Monday called for safeguarding the right to vote, describing it as the foundation of democracy and a crucial instrument for shaping the country’s future. She was speaking at the “Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao Abhiyan” organised at Classic Gardens in Balamrai under the leadership of Cantonment MLA Sri Ganesh. The campaign focused on protecting voting rights, ensuring the integrity of electoral rolls and upholding democratic values.

Dr Neelima said voting was not merely a means of electing representatives but a fundamental democratic right that determined the country’s future and the direction of governance. She urged the Election Commission to maintain transparency and accountability throughout the electoral process and take steps to strengthen public confidence in elections. Dr Neelima further observed that protecting democracy was a collective responsibility and not the concern of any single political party. She called for united efforts to safeguard voting rights, uphold constitutional values and promote public participation in the electoral process.
