Deoria: The third day of the 'Gavishthi (cow protection dharmayuddh)' concluded at the Shri Ram Temple in Vaikunthpur under the presence of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati. A large gathering of scholars, students and devotees participated in the religious conclave.
During the procession, events were held at Mundera Babu, Banjariya Chauraha Road, Kanchanpur Chauraha, Kasya Road, Sonughat Chauraha and Lakshmi Narayan Temple Shivbankata, where local residents expressed support for cow protection initiatives.
In his address, the Shankaracharya emphasized that cow protection is a cultural responsibility and urged that the cow be declared as 'Rashtra Mata'. He also criticized existing policies and called for stronger legal frameworks.
He announced that a massive gathering will take place in Lucknow on July 24, where supporters from across the country are expected to participate in support of cow protection. He warned that if no concrete action is taken by the government within the 81-day campaign period, the next phase of the movement will be intensified.
The campaign concluded with a collective oath chanting Vedic mantras, pledging commitment to cow protection. Media in-charge Sanjay Pandey stated that the event aimed to strengthen cultural awareness and public participation.
According to organizers, the initiative seeks nationwide mobilisation of devotees and a renewed debate on cow protection policies across political and administrative platforms in India. Organisers said further outreach programmes will continue in coming weeks of Uttar Pradesh state region.
