Andhra Pradesh Information, Public Relations and Housing Minister Kolusu Parthasarathi has strongly condemned the recent attack on Nakkanaboyina Sambasiva Rao Yadav, a resident of Shobhanapuram village in Agiripalli mandal, and directed police officials to take stringent action against those responsible.
Speaking after visiting the injured victim at a government hospital in Vijayawada on Sunday, the minister said he had immediately alerted senior police officials upon learning about the incident and instructed them to ensure a thorough investigation. He emphasized that those involved in the attack must be dealt with firmly and that preventive measures should be taken to ensure similar incidents do not recur in the future.
Parthasarathi stated that maintaining peace and public order is a shared responsibility of both citizens and political leaders. He urged political parties and public representatives to act responsibly and refrain from encouraging violence under any circumstances. Differences in a democratic society, he said, should be resolved through dialogue and lawful means rather than confrontation.
The minister also stressed the need for responsible use of social media. While digital platforms can play an important role in highlighting public issues and disseminating factual information, he warned that spreading falsehoods, personal attacks and defamatory content can be harmful to society and undermine democratic values.
Addressing concerns related to mining activities, Parthasarathi said gravel and other mineral resources are essential for infrastructure development and economic growth. However, he underscored that mining operations must be conducted strictly in accordance with government regulations and legal provisions. Preventing illegal mining, he added, is a collective social responsibility.
The minister further expressed concern over attempts to create misconceptions among the public by diverting attention from the state’s development initiatives. Actions aimed at intimidating officials, businesses or investors, he said, run contrary to the spirit of democracy and hinder progress.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to law and order, Parthasarathi said personal attacks and activities that disrupt public peace cannot be justified under any circumstances. He appealed to citizens to exercise restraint, respect the rule of law and contribute towards maintaining social harmony and public welfare.
During his visit, the minister also interacted with other patients admitted to different wards of the hospital and enquired about their well-being.
