Venkatapur Police Station in Mulugu district traced and recovered 25 missing mobile phones this month with the help of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal and the district's IT Core Team. Victims who lost their mobile phones lodged complaints online through the CEIR portal.
Following this, the Venkatapur police station registered the complaints and, with technical assistance from the Mulugu IT Core Team, identified the missing devices. The recovered phones were handed over to the rightful owners on Thursday in a formal ceremony by the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Mulugu district.
On the occasion, the SP appreciated the efforts of the Venkatapur Police Station staff and the IT Core Team, stating that their dedicated work enabled the victims to regain their phones in a short time. The SP advised the public to remain vigilant with their personal belongings and avoid negligence.
He also directed all police stations in the district to take prompt action on missing mobile phone cases, ensure regular follow-up on complaints, and focus on speedy recovery using available technology. In case of a lost or stolen mobile phone, citizens should immediately file a complaint on the CEIR portal and inform the local police to facilitate quick tracing and recovery.
