On the occasion of World Spine Day observed annually on October 16, doctors at CARE Hospitals are drawing attention to everyday habits that can affect spine health. In line with this year's theme, “Spine Health for Life,” doctors are emphasizing the importance of maintaining a healthy spine through better posture, regular physical activity and timely medical attention for persistent back and neck pain.

Low back pain remains a significant public health concern in India, affecting people across different age groups and occupations. Dr. Randhir Kumar, Clinical Director & Sr Consultant - Neurosurgeon, Neurointerventionist and Endoscopic Spine Surgeon, CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills, mentioned that  spending long hours in traffic, travelling over damaged roads and sitting continuously can aggravate back and neck pain and emphasized that recurring pain that affects work or daily activities should not be ignored.

Explaining the importance of prevention, Dr. Praveen Goparaju, Senior Consultant Minimally Invasive & Deformity Spine Surgeon, CARE Hospitals, Hitech City added that not every back or neck pain requires surgery. He cautioned that working professionals should maintain proper sitting posture, use adequate back support and take regular movement breaks.
