Bharat Rashtra Samithi Working President K.T. Rama Rao strongly criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his remarks at a Conclave in Bengaluru, alleging that the Chief Minister's comments exposed an authoritarian and fascist mindset before the nation.
Reacting on his X account to Revanth Reddy's references to HYDRAA and comments invoking German dictator Adolf Hitler, KTR said the Chief Minister revealed the ideological foundations behind what he described as the Congress government's demolition-driven governance model. He alleged that HYDRAA had become a symbol of coercive governance, functioning through intimidation and force rather than democratic principles.
KTR stated that the people of Telangana had already witnessed what he termed the Congress government's authoritarian tendencies and claimed that the Chief Minister's remarks amounted to a public acknowledgment of those methods. He accused the government of targeting the homes and livelihoods of ordinary citizens under the guise of administrative action.
According to KTR, HYDRAA has operated as an agency that has caused hardship to poor and middle class families through demolition drives. He alleged that the Congress government has prioritized coercive actions over welfare and development, creating fear and uncertainty among citizens.
Contrasting the Congress government with the previous BRS administration, KTR asserted that the BRS was guided by democratic values and constitutional principles. He said the party drew inspiration from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi and Professor Jayashankar, whose ideals shaped Telangana's governance during the BRS tenure.
KTR maintained that the BRS government had functioned in accordance with the spirit of the Constitution, democratic accountability and the vision of Telangana's founding ideologues. He emphasized that the party remained committed to safeguarding constitutional values and protecting citizens' rights.
The BRS Working President also questioned whether the Congress high command endorsed the Chief Minister's remarks. He sought clarity from the national leadership of the Congress on whether invoking Hitler in a political context was acceptable in a democratic country and demanded that the party explain its position to the people of Telangana.
KTR further alleged that the Congress government had become synonymous with demolitions, intimidation and coercive governance rather than welfare oriented administration. He warned that any attempt to normalize authoritarian practices would be rejected by the people.
Reiterating the BRS commitment to democracy and constitutional governance, KTR said Telangana's future must be built on democratic values, public welfare and respect for citizens' rights, not on fear or authoritarian methods. He expressed confidence that the people would ultimately uphold democratic principles and deliver their verdict accordingly.
