The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has strongly dismissed what it described as misleading and baseless allegations made by certain unrecognized groups, stating that they have no legal authority or standing to question its functioning or governance of cricket in Telangana.

The Association said such statements are intended to create confusion around its legitimate administrative activities, including the conduct of the TG20 League. It reiterated that HCA is the only officially recognized governing body for cricket in the State under the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), of which it has been a founding member since 1934.

Citing established legal and constitutional principles, the HCA referred to the “one state–one member” structure upheld by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, asserting that no parallel body or association can claim jurisdiction or interfere in its operations. It maintained that its authority over cricket administration in Telangana is well defined, legally supported, and nationally recognized.

The Association further stated that it is fully empowered to handle all administrative, operational, and legal matters related to cricket in the State. It warned that any attempt to mislead players, stakeholders, or the public with false claims will invite appropriate legal action.

Addressing references to ongoing court matters, the HCA clarified that such claims are misleading and confirmed that no court, including the Bombay High Court, has restricted its functioning or granted any relief to rival entities.

Defending the TG20 League, the HCA described it as a structured initiative conducted in line with BCCI guidelines, aimed at promoting grassroots cricket and creating opportunities for emerging talent across Telangana.
