Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to ensure that all essential materials required by students are supplied on time, emphasizing that timely availability will help students focus better on their studies.

During a review meeting held on Thursday evening on the centralised procurement of supplies for educational institutions under the Education, BC Welfare, Minority Welfare, Tribal Welfare, and SC Development departments, the Chief Minister stressed the need for quality and uniformity in procurement.

He noted that earlier, procurement and supply were handled independently by different departments, leading to inconsistencies and irregularities. To address these issues and enhance accountability, the government has introduced a centralised procurement system. The Chief Minister made it clear that irregularities in the supply of items such as uniforms, notebooks, trunk boxes, and other materials would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Revanth Reddy reiterated that the government’s objective is to benefit students, not suppliers.

He instructed officials to ensure that all items provided to students—including notebooks, uniforms, school bags, ID cards, track suits, bed sheets, plates, and glasses—meet high-quality standards. Special attention must also be given to timely distribution.

The Chief Minister set a deadline of June 15 for the complete distribution of all required materials to students and assured that payments to suppliers would be made promptly upon successful delivery.

To streamline the process, he suggested appointing a nodal officer at the mandal level to oversee distribution to schools and hostels in villages. Officials were also instructed to document the supply process through photographs and videos and to verify that every student receives the required materials.

Importantly, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to collect feedback from students regarding the quality and usability of the supplied items. He also called for the formation of a coordination committee among SC, ST, BC, Minority Welfare, and Education departments to ensure smooth implementation.

Senior officials and advisors participated in the review meeting.
