Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, visited the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad on Wednesday, where he was briefed on the institution’s advanced training curriculum aimed at producing battle-ready technicians for the Indian Army.
During his visit, General Dwivedi was received by Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, VSM, Commandant of MCEME, who provided an overview of the college’s skill development initiatives in cutting-edge technologies and hands-on training programs designed to enhance the Army’s operational effectiveness.
The COAS toured various faculties, inspected modern laboratories and infrastructure, and reviewed innovative projects aimed at achieving self-reliance in defence technology. He commended MCEME’s advancements in critical domains such as counter-drone technology, autonomous robotics, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence.
Expressing appreciation for MCEME’s contributions, General Dwivedi emphasized the institution’s role in strengthening the Army’s technological edge and aligning with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He highlighted the importance of continuous adaptation and innovation to ensure the Army remains future-ready.
