The Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal is poised to give a major boost to India’s textile sector while bringing national recognition to Telangana, particularly Warangal city. The mega project, developed under the PM MITRA scheme, will be virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 10 from Hyderabad.
This marks Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to Telangana after assuming office for a third term. The park is expected to emerge as an international-standard textile hub with world-class infrastructure, strengthening India’s textile manufacturing and export ecosystem.
Spread across 1,327 acres, the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park is being described as the largest textile park in the country. Developed as a brownfield project, it aligns with the Centre’s vision of creating integrated textile regions that can compete globally.
The project has been built at a cost of Rs 1,695.54 crore and is expected to attract investments worth Rs 6,000 crore. Officials said more than Rs 3,800 crore in investments have already been secured, reflecting strong industry interest.
The park is also expected to generate significant employment opportunities in the region, benefiting thousands of workers and supporting allied industries.
The initiative reflects Prime Minister Modi’s 5F vision — “Farm to Fiber, Fiber to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign” — aimed at transforming India into a global textile powerhouse.
With its launch, Warangal is set to become a key destination in the country’s growing textile and apparel landscape.
