Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu has said that the Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken steps to resolve the problems of the mirchi farmers of Andhra Pradesh at the request of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu .The Civil Aviation Minister made the announcement after meeting Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday. Minister Rammohan Naidu said that CM Chandrababu has taken up the issues of mirchi farmers with the Centre and is exploring the possibility of increasing the export of mirchies.
He said he too had a long meeting with Shivraj Singh Chouhan on the issues of mirchi farmers in which AP Agriculture Minister Atchannaidu and officials participated in the meeting on behalf of the state government. “We are trying to help the farmers through the market intervention scheme. If the state government calculates the cost of production of mirchies, it will be Rs. 11,600 per quintal. Steps are being taken to ensure that more than that amount reaches the farmers.
Today's meeting also discussed about increasing the export of mirchis. We have decided to hold a conference with mirchi farmers and exporters in the state. Based on the suggestions and suggestions received through the conference, we will focus on increasing the exports of mirchis. We are all thinking about how to increase the income of mirchi farmers.” Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said.

He also said that Indian Council of Agricultural Research has been asked to fix the cost of production at more than Rs 11,600. He said the Union minister has promised to extend up to 75% under the Market Interventions Scheme. Under the market intervention scheme for mirchis in AP, a price of over Rs 12,000 per quintal was sought.
"The Union Minister has given instructions to the ICAR officials regarding the price. The issue of stabilising exports came up for discussion in the meeting. He said a decision has been taken to hold a meeting with exporters to resolve the issue of exports.” Union Minister Rammohan Naidu said.
