metro india news  I hyderabad

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday declared that Telangana's future lies not merely in becoming a gateway to India but in emerging as a gateway to the world, unveiling an ambitious roadmap to transform the state into a one trillion dollar economy by 2034 and a three trillion dollar economy by 2047.

Addressing the Telangana Formation Day celebrations at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, the Chief Minister released the strategic vision document, "Telangana Rising 2047," and called upon citizens to actively participate in the state's economic transformation. He said the roadmap would guide Telangana's development over the coming decades and position the state among the world's leading growth destinations.

Paying tributes to the martyrs and activists who sacrificed for the achievement of Telangana, Revanth Reddy said the statehood movement was not only about welfare and development but also about self-respect, freedom and social justice. He reaffirmed his government's commitment to fulfilling those aspirations through inclusive governance and balanced growth.

Welfare at the core of governance

Highlighting the government's achievements over the last two and a half years, the Chief Minister said welfare and development are being pursued with equal priority. He noted that Telangana has emerged as a national model in implementing people centric welfare programmes.

For farmers, the government waived crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh, benefiting nearly 25 lakh farmers, while over Rs 27,500 crore was disbursed under Rythu Bharosa. Telangana also became the country's leading state in paddy procurement, accounting for nearly 60 percent of the nation's Yasangi season procurement.

The government has provided Rs 60,000 crore in zero interest loans to women's self help groups and expanded economic opportunities for women through entrepreneurship initiatives. Welfare measures such as free RTC bus travel, subsidised LPG cylinders and 200 units of free electricity have benefited millions of families across the State.

Jobs, education and housing for inclusive growth

Revanth Reddy said the government filled 67,763 government jobs in a transparent manner without legal disputes and would soon issue fresh recruitment notifications through TGPSC for engineering, forestry, pollution control, town planning and education departments.

Emphasising the role of education in eliminating poverty, he highlighted reforms such as Telangana Public Schools, Young India Integrated Schools, Young India Skill University and the upgradation of ITIs and polytechnic colleges into Advanced Technology Centres. Telangana's improved performance in the latest national education grading index reflects the impact of these reforms, he said.

The Chief Minister also termed the Indiramma Housing Scheme a landmark initiative. The government allocated Rs 22,500 crore in its first year and sanctioned 4.5 lakh houses. Construction of one lakh houses has already been completed within 13 months, while the remaining houses are scheduled for completion in phases. For the current financial year, another 3.5 lakh houses have been sanctioned.

Roadmap for global growth

Presenting the Telangana Rising 2047 framework, Revanth Reddy said the State would be developed through the innovative CURE, PURE and RARE growth model. Hyderabad and surrounding urban centres will emerge as world class services hubs, peri urban regions will be developed as manufacturing and logistics corridors, while rural Telangana will focus on agriculture, agro industries and farmer entrepreneurship.

The Chief Minister said the government is pursuing major investments in infrastructure, irrigation, industry, education and healthcare while simultaneously strengthening social welfare. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to revive pending irrigation projects, address issues in the Kaleshwaram project and expand airport, metro rail and industrial infrastructure.

Reiterating that Telangana's governance is driven by the aspirations of its people, Revanth Reddy said the government remains committed to empowering farmers, women, youth and the poor while building a globally competitive economy. He expressed confidence that with public support and collective effort, Telangana would achieve its Vision 2047 goals and emerge as a model of inclusive and sustainable development.

Bandi, KTR target Cong on Telangana Day

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay participated in Telangana Formation Day celebrations at the BJP state headquarters and accused the Congress government of failing to fulfil its promises.

He alleged that the state was witnessing "Triple C" governance, referring to confusion, corruption, and commission. Sanjay charged the Congress with attempting to divert attention from issues such as implementation of six guarantees and paddy procurement by creating political controversies.

Responding to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's remarks regarding Maharashtra, he said the BJP would help secure an appointment with the Maharashtra Chief Minister if needed and advised maintaining cordial relations with neighbouring states. He claimed Telangana required stronger utilisation of central funds and asserted that a BJP government would ensure greater development through a double engine model. He urged voters to give the BJP an opportunity to govern Telangana. BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao paid homage to Telangana martyrs and described June 2 as the day Telangana overcame decades of discrimination and neglect.

He credited BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao with leading the statehood movement to success and said the party would continue safeguarding Telangana's identity and interests. Addressing party workers at Telangana Bhavan, KTR accused the Congress government of coming to power through false promises and misinformation. He alleged that the state had suffered setbacks across sectors during the last 30 months and claimed farmers, youth, employees, and other sections were dissatisfied with the government's performance. KTR criticised the Congress over agriculture, employment, irrigation, and welfare issues.
