The Telangana Government has introduced a "One Time Scheme" (OTS) to provide significant relief to property taxpayers under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). Under this scheme, 90% of the accumulated arrear interest on property tax will be waived, subject to certain conditions. This initiative aims to encourage taxpayers to clear their dues and reduce financial burdens.

According to the order issued by the Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD) Department, taxpayers must settle the principal amount of property tax for all financial years up to 2024-25, along with 10% of the accrued interest on arrears in a single payment. Taxpayers who fulfill these requirements will benefit from the 90% interest waiver.

Furthermore, for individuals who have already paid their total property tax dues, including interest and penalties, during the financial year up to March 2025 (before the implementation of this scheme), 90% of such interest or penalties will be adjusted against their future payments.

The Commissioner of GHMC has been directed to implement the scheme and take necessary actions to ensure smooth execution. Taxpayers are encouraged to utilize this opportunity for resolving their arrears.
