Congress MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna on Wednesday alleged continued injustice to Telangana, saying promises under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 remain unfulfilled even years after statehood.
Raising the issue in Lok Sabha, the MP warned that Andhra Pradesh’s Banakacherla project could divert nearly 200 TMC of Krishna River water, threatening drought conditions in North Telangana.
Highlighting infrastructure disparity, Vamsi said Andhra Pradesh has multiple airports while Telangana still relies on just one, with Peddapalli airport yet to take With regard to Rail funds, he accused the Centre of bias, and said the AP state is receiving massive railway investments while Telangana is limited to small-scale projects.
Raising concerns over the Polavaram project, the MP warned of backwater threats to Kothagudem and Bhadrachalam, demanding urgent flood protection.
Further, the MP pointed out that key development promises remain ignored. From the stalled Bayyaram steel factory to denial of semiconductor projects and industrial corridor in Telangana, he noted.
He flagged a fertilizer shortage at RFCL Ramagundam, alleging Telangana farmers are suffering while Andhra Pradesh farmers face no such crisis. He concluded firmly, "There will be no compromise on Telangana's rights. The government must address these issues immediately."
