Nellore is on the cusp of a major development. The Andhra Pradesh Government is outlining a slew of projects. Speaking at the ‘Pedala Sevalo’ programme in Vinjamuru of Nellore district, the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu outlined a wide range of initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and accelerating economic growth.

Highlighting welfare measures, Naidu said the state is spending nearly Rs 2,750 crore every month on pensions, positioning Andhra Pradesh among the top states in social security delivery. He pointed to flagship schemes such as ‘Thalliki Vandanam’ and ‘Deepam 2.0,’ under which three free LPG cylinders are provided annually, with plans underway to extend piped gas connections to households along with a Rs 2,400 subsidy.

Focusing on rural infrastructure, the Chief Minister announced Rs 34 crore for diverting water from the Somasila canal to the Vinjamuru tank, assuring completion by October this year. He praised local community efforts in water conservation and called for greater public participation in sustainable resource management.
