Sanjay Gupta faces backlash

The Ketan Agarwal case has once again ignited a massive debate on social media. Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta compared the accused Siya Goyal with the media trial of actress Rhea Chakraborty in his recent social media post.

The director pointed out the social boycott faced by Rhea after the sudden demise of her ex-boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput back in 2020. Sanjay took to his official X handle and penned, “Not standing in judgement. Not taking sides. Just saying - can we please stop doing to Siya what we did to Rhea? We all watched that circus. The trial-by-television. The verdict before the evidence. We never learn (sic).”

However, the netizens did not agree with the Kaante maker’s analysis. He faced a massive backlash in the comment section. “Sometimes you manage to pick the most illogical side of an argument. Stop trying so hard Sir. Kiski nazron me oocha banna hai,” an X user commented.

Another one penned, “What is #wrong with you? Or nothing is right with you? She is a #murderer. There is enough evidence. She not only killed a boy but his entire #family by killing their only #son. If she was not #happy, she could have run away from her #home instead of killing an innocent #boy.” Refreshing your memory, Rhea faced several allegations after her then-boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput, passed away. She was even arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with an alleged drug case.
