The District Youth Services and Sports Department organized celebrations of Sri Vasavi Matha Jayanthi on Sunday at the IDOC office in Bhupalpally. District Collector Rahul Sharma and Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao attended the event as chief guests. They paid floral tributes to Goddess Vasavi Mata and performed special pooja rituals. Speaking on the occasion, District Collector Rahul Sharma and MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao described Vasavi Matha Jayanthi, celebrated every year on Vaishakha Shuddha Dashami, as an extremely sacred occasion.
They highlighted that Goddess Vasavi Mahta, believed to be an incarnation of Parvati Devi, is a divine symbol of non-violence (Ahimsa), peace, and social harmony. They expressed happiness over the state government’s decision to officially declare Vasavi Matha Jayanthi as a state festival. They noted that this recognition not only brings honor to the Arya Vysya community but also serves as an important occasion to promote values such as non-violence, dharma, and social equality in society.
The Collector and MLA urged all sections of the people to celebrate Vasavi Jayanthi with utmost devotion and in a peaceful atmosphere across the district. They prayed that Goddess Vasavi Matha’s blessings reach all the people of the district and appealed to everyone to work together for peace, unity, and development.
