NIRDPR and KISS-DU sign MoU to boost rural development

The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad, and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences Deemed to be University (KISS-DU), Bhubaneswar, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on training, research, and experiential learning in tribal development.

The agreement, signed on April 4, 2025, aims to strengthen evidence-based research and capacity-building initiatives focused on tribal regional development. Both institutions will work together to scale up rural skills, enhance tribal livelihoods, and promote indigenous best practices. The partnership is expected to contribute significantly to poverty alleviation and social security at the village level. Director General of NIRDPR, Dr. G Narendra Kumar, highlighted the importance of research-driven collaboration for job creation and knowledge exchange. Registrar of KISS-DU, Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, expressed optimism about the joint efforts toward tribal empowerment.

The signing ceremony was attended by key officials, including Manoj Kumar, Registrar and Director Administration, NIRDPR, and several faculty members from both institutions. An action committee will be formed to oversee the initiatives under the MoU.
