The Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone Team, along with Narayanguda Police, cracked down on an organized cricket betting racket, arresting three individuals involved in illegal betting operations during the ongoing IPL 2025.
Authorities seized Rs 1,32,000 in cash and three mobile phones from the suspects, who were providing online user IDs and passwords to punters.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Guruvinder Singh Saluja alias Gourav, aged 41, a businessman from Himayath Nagar, Hyderabad, who is believed to be the main bookie; Sardar Jasvinder Singh alias Jessy alias Likki, acting as a sub-bookie; and Koppula Karthik, aged 28, a businessman from Narayanguda, Hyderabad, who was operating as a punter.
Investigations revealed that the accused procured user IDs from two primary bookies—Vikas alias Vicky from Nanded, Maharashtra, and Mukesh from Kachiguda, Hyderabad—using the online betting platform Radheexchange.com. They were illegally distributing login credentials to punters on a commission basis, further expanding the betting network.
The police operation underscores Hyderabad’s ongoing efforts to dismantle illegal gambling networks. Authorities are continuing investigations to trace the main bookies and identify further links in the racket, cautioning citizens against engaging in unauthorized betting activities that carry legal repercussions.
