Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu while addressing a public gathering in G.D. Nellore, Chittoor district, after participating in the pension distribution drive, reiterated his government's commitment to poverty eradication and inclusive growth.

As part of the pension distribution drive, Chandrababu Naidu personally handed over pensions to beneficiaries in BC and SC colonies. He visited the home of toddy tapper Vasu in the BC colony and pension recipient Vasantamma in the SC colony. Highlighting the government's commitment to social security, he pointed out that Andhra Pradesh was spending Rs.33,000 crore annually to support 64 lakh pensioners.

“In the past, pensioners struggled to receive their dues. The previous government distributed pensions grudgingly, but I raised the pension amount from Rs.200 to Rs.2,000 and later to Rs.3,000. Now, I have ensured that beneficiaries receive Rs.4,000,” Naidu stated. The government has also introduced Rs.10,000 monthly assistance for dialysis patients and Rs.15,000 for bedridden individuals, demonstrating a compassionate approach to governance.

New initiatives

Announcing plans for an industrial park spanning 2,000 acres in G.D. Nellore, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the government's focus on economic growth and job creation. He revealed that in just nine months, the state had attracted Rs.6.5 lakh crore in investments, which is expected to generate five lakh jobs. He credited the NDA government's collaboration with the central government for steering Andhra Pradesh toward economic progress.

The Chief Minister criticized the previous administration for pushing the state into Rs.10 lakh crore debt and mismanaging funds. In contrast, his government has repaid Rs.24,000 crore in pending bills left by the previous regime. He stated that achieved 12.92% economic growth in just nine months, a record for the state. He said that the government has repaired 20,000 km of roads, filling potholes and improving connectivity.

He also pledged to complete Amaravati’s development, accelerate Polavaram project work, and promote solar energy for self-sufficient households. “Every home should generate 200 units of electricity per month, reducing dependency on power bills,” he said.

To ease the burden of medical expenses on middle-class families, the government will provide Rs.2.5 lakh health insurance coverage, while under the NTR Vaidya Seva scheme, poor families can avail treatment worth up to Rs.25 lakh. Additionally, women’s self-help groups (DWCRA) will receive financial support to strengthen their economic status.

Concluding his speech, Naidu urged citizens to vote based on policies and development rather than caste, religion, or regional politics. He warned against misleading narratives and emphasized that his government’s focus remains on progress, economic stability, and the upliftment of the poor.
