A tense rescue operation unfolded at Golnaka near Amberpet on Saturday after a 49-year-old woman, who spent an entire night trapped in the Musi River, was rescued alive by HYDRAA Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams.

The woman, identified as Indira, reportedly slipped into the Musi River on Friday night near Bhagyanagar in Amberpet. Officials said she fell into a dangerous stretch surrounded by thick trees and steep embankments, making it impossible for her to climb out or reach the shore. She remained stranded in the river overnight in fear, repeatedly crying for help, but nobody nearby could hear her.

The incident came to light on Saturday morning after local residents noticed the woman struggling in the water after 10 am. As rescuing her without equipment appeared difficult, locals immediately contacted the HYDRAA control room seeking emergency assistance.

Officials said the alert was received at 10:51 am, and within just 16 minutes, HYDRAA DRF rescue teams led by rescue in-charge Swami rushed to the location along with fire department personnel. Using a large ladder and safety support equipment, DRF personnel carefully descended into the river and rescued the woman safely. She was later handed over to her family members and local police. Indira later informed officials that she had accidentally slipped into the river. Residents praised HYDRAA teams for their swift response and life-saving rescue effort.
