Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National Working President and Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday urged party cadres to aggressively counter the fake propaganda and poisonous campaign being carried out by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), while simultaneously taking the coalition government’s welfare and development initiatives directly to the people.

Addressing a TDP workers’ meeting in Mopidevi, Lokesh cautioned party leaders and activists against becoming complacent after the coalition’s electoral victory. He described political complacency as a disease more dangerous than COVID, warning that relaxing after coming to power could weaken the party’s connection with the people.

“We fought relentlessly while in opposition. That fighting spirit should continue even after coming to power. If workers become inactive or withdraw over minor disappointments, it is not just the party that suffers, but the people of Andhra Pradesh as well,” he said.

Lokesh accused the previous YSRCP government of harassing TDP workers and tarnishing the reputation of Krishna district through abusive politics. Referring to his earlier remarks about maintaining a Red Book of alleged political excesses, he said, “The Red Book will do its work. There is no need for anyone to have doubts about that.”

Earlier in the day, Lokesh inaugurated newly constructed buildings at the Zilla Parishad High School in Kokkiligadda, built at a cost of ₹1.4 crore with support from donors under the P4 initiative. Interacting with teachers and students, he said the government had completed the infrastructure development phase and would now focus on improving learning outcomes.

He urged teachers to identify academically weak students and provide targeted support through bridge courses, with the goal of achieving 100 percent pass results. Lokesh also announced plans to strengthen digital governance in education through the LEAP App, enabling teachers and parents to communicate directly with the government.
