The GHMC Commissioner has established a special committee to review the basic facilities and food conditions at Annapurna Canteens. The committee, led by GHMC Chief Engineer Bhaskar Reddy and including Additional Commissioners Pankaj (Health) and Venugopal Reddy (Advertisement), visited the Annapurna Centers behind the Secretariat at Mint Compound, Lakdikapul, on Saturday to inspect the facilities and food quality.

In line with the state government's initiative to support the needy, Annapurna Centers provide meals for just Rs 5. Recognizing the value of this scheme, the government has decided to modernize these centers. The GHMC is taking special measures to ensure not only basic facilities but also nutritious food at the centers.

Chief Engineer Bhaskar Reddy stated that, as per the Commissioner's directions, he and the committee members conducted surprise inspections at the Annapurna Centers in Mint Compound and Lakdikapul. After sampling the meals, Reddy expressed satisfaction with the food quality. The committee decided to undertake repairs at both locations and announced the formation of an engineering team to report on the condition of Annapurna Centers across various GHMC areas.
