A school breakfast programme supported by the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation India (HKMCF) is making a positive contribution to the school experience in Kodangal, according to a 2026 survey of parents, students and teachers. The programme serves breakfast and milk to students in Zilla Parishad primary and high schools, with meals prepared through a centralised kitchen model.

The survey by Third Vision Research & Services gathered responses from 1,153 students, 575 parents and 176 teachers and headmasters.  Almost every student surveyed—99.9%—said they eat the breakfast served at school, 99.7% knew that breakfast was provided and 97.7% knew that milk was part of the programme. More than nine in ten rated taste, food quality, freshness, cleanliness and warmth as good or better. Parents also expressed strong approval: 95.7% rated the breakfast good or very good.

Overall, the survey presents a hopeful picture of a school nutrition initiative with strong reach and broad support. The implementing partner of this prestigious School Breakfast programme 'Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation' is helping make a nourishing morning meal part of the school routine, while parents and teachers report encouraging signs in attendance, punctuality and student well-being.
