Vijayawada SC ST Special Court on Monday has issued an order remanding Former MLA and YSRCP leader  Vallabhaneni Vamsi to three days custody in connection with the 2023 Gannavaram Telugu Desam Party office attack case. The court directed the court to question and interrogate him from 10 am to 5 pm. The court made it clear that he was taken into custody in Vijayawada limits and interrogated.

The SC/ST court ordered the hearing in the presence of a lawyer. The court also responded to a petition filed by Vamsi that he was suffering due to back pain. The court has issued an order allowing a bed in the jail. The police officials had earlier sought a 10-day custody of Vamsi to interrogate him in connection with this case.

They claimed that his role in the kidnapping of Satyavardhan who was working in that office was crucial and that his custody is needed for further interrogation. The police have also collected evidence from all angles related to Satyavardhan's kidnapping and threats. All these were submitted to the court by the police. The court gave its verdict today remanding Vamsi to three-day custody beginning from Tuesday. The court also allowed Vamsi to be questioned in such a way that the lawyers could see him and also meet him directly thrice a day.

On the other hand, the CID has stepped up its investigation in this case. The authorities have issued a Prisoner in Transit (PT) warrant against the former MLA. The court has ordered him to be produced before the court on Tuesday, the 25th of this month. However, the police say that it will depend on the judge's decision whether Vamsi will be brought directly to the court or produced virtually from the jail premises only.
