As part of Financial Literacy Week scheduled by Reserve Bank of India, from February 24 to 28, RBI Hyderabad, in co-ordination with State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Telangana has organized “2K Walkathon” on Tuesday from 6.30am onwards, in Osmania University Campus, Hyderabad. The Walkathon was well attended by around 400 dignitaries, executives, Officials from RBI and various other Banks, in addition to students from the University.
While addressing the gathering after the Walkathon, T Jagadeesh Kumar, Deputy General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Hyderabad, reiterated the theme of Financial Literacy Week 2025, i.e., “Women Prosperity”. The target segment of the FLW this year is women, with the three sub-themes being the following: Financial Planning targeting Homemakers, Savings and Risk Management targeting Working women, availing credit for Growth targeting Women entrepreneurs.
Jagadeesh Kumar further emphasized that the Bankers must create more awareness among their women customers and make them well equipped with appropriate updates for taking financial decisions to become financially smart and prosper in all their endeavors.
Rajesh Kumar, CGM, SBI, Hyderabad Circle, in his message appreciated all Banks for actively participating in Financial Literacy Week. He further emphasized the paramount importance of women and their contributions for the sustained economic growth. While narrating the special focus of SBI on women entrepreneurs, through schemes like SBI Stree Shakthi Yojana, SHG-Bank linkages etc., he appealed to other Banks for carrying focused approach towards women empowerment.
