Food regulator FSSAI on Wednesday stated that Amway India, Emami, Bonn Biscuits and three other companies have withdrawn misleading 100% claims from their product labelling and advertisements following enforcement actions.

In a social media post, the FSSAI informed that it has initiated action against food business operators to discontinue the use of the term "100%" on labels, packaging, and promotional or advertising materials.

Following intervention by the food safety regulator, five food business operators took corrective action and withdrew 100% claims from their products and advertisements.

Regarding Bonn Biscuits, the FSSAI stated that the company used a 100% claim in the advertisement for Bonn Cummin Flavor Jeera Bite Biscuits, 76 gm, but has since removed the claim from its website. On Emami, the regulator stated that the company used a 100% claim for Zandu Honey, noting that Emami complied with the advisory and took corrective action.

Apis India also removed similar claims from its honey products. In the case of Amway India Enterprises, the FSSAI stated that the company used a "100% Pure Coconut Oil" claim for one of its products. Following regulatory intervention, Amway India submitted a compliance response confirming voluntary removal of the term from product packaging and promotional materials.
