Even babies born at just 23 weeks of pregnancy can now be saved with the help of advanced medical technology, revealed specialists from Medicover Women & Child Hospital. Neonatologist Dr. Ravinder Reddy, Pediatric Surgeon Dr. Madhumohan, and Gynecologist Dr. Bhargavi shared this information during an awareness seminar conducted on Tuesday at Medicover Hospital.

The seminar focused on modern neonatal treatment methods for high-risk pregnancies and premature babies born before completing full-term gestation. Speaking on the occasion, the doctors emphasized that every minute is crucial in high-risk pregnancies and highlighted the importance of the “Golden Hour” immediately after birth.

They noted that in regions like Karimnagar, lack of timely access to specialized care during high-risk pregnancies and preterm deliveries can significantly impact the health of both mother and baby. According to the doctors, one in every ten babies is born prematurely, and many of them require specialized neonatal care within the first hour of birth.

Babies born at 23–24 weeks require advanced respiratory support, strict infection control, specialized nutritional management, and continuous monitoring. The specialists stated that Medicover Women & Child Hospital, HITEC City, is equipped with state-of-the-art NICU facilities, 24/7 neonatology services, pediatric surgery support, and specially trained nursing staff.
