Comedian Prudhvi said Dear Uma is an awareness driven film like Venkatesh’s Ganesh. The film Ganesh focused on the healthcare system, Dear Uma deals with a similar theme. The pre-release event for the movie took place on Wednesday as part of its promotions. Speaking at the event, Prudhvi said Sai Rajesh has crafted Dear Uma wonderfully, Sumaya Reddy’s story is genuinely impactful.

Sumaya Reddy said ‘I have taken a bold step forward by producing this film, and I hope to receive everyone's support. A short film I wrote and directed earlier was well received. Later, I worked again with Sai Rajesh on Dear Uma. Thanks to Madhu and Chakravarthy for standing by me. It’s because of Naveen that Radhan came on board. Everyone worked on this project like it was their dream project. Just like there’s a woman behind every man’s success, there’s also often a man behind a woman’s success.’

Director Sai Rajesh said ‘Our team has worked incredibly hard on Dear Uma. I had previously worked on Burra Katha as an associate and met Sumaya Reddy there. Later, we collaborated on a short film. During the COVID lockdown, she wrote a story that I loved, and that’s how Dear Uma began. We took this story to many people, but it went through many changes. That’s why Sumaya Reddy decided to produce it herself — she wanted to make a film with a strong social message. Sumaya Reddy’s performance and Prithvi Amber’s acting will captivate audiences.’
