Hyderabad Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar, IPS said the drive is aimed at protecting public health and ensuring safe food for citizens. He reviewed the functioning of the H-FAST unit during a visit to its office at Begum Bazaar on Monday.
During the inspection, the Commissioner examined various sections of the office including the reception, officers’ rooms, lock-up facilities and amenities provided for women staff. He later interacted with field-level personnel and enquired about the challenges faced during enforcement operations.
Sajjanar assured the staff that their issues would be resolved at the earliest. He appreciated the H-FAST team for achieving strong results and gaining recognition in a short span of time.
Calling food adulteration a serious threat to society, he directed officials to take strict legal action against offenders and strengthen coordination with food safety authorities. He also warned staff against any misconduct and said strict departmental action would be taken in case of violations.
Appreciation certificates were distributed to 108 police personnel for their performance. Officials also urged the public to support the drive by providing information on adulteration activities.
