Bathukamma celebrations were held with enthusiasm at Satyam Theatre Circle in Ameerpet under the leadership of Ameerpet Division Congress President Srikanth Yadav. Dr. Kota Neelima, TPCC Vice-President and Congress Party In-charge of Sanath Nagar Assembly Constituency, attended the celebrations as the Chief Guest. Dr. Kota Neelima extended her greetings to the women of Telangana on the occasion of Bathukamma, the state's iconic floral festival. She said the festival embodies the rich cultural heritage and age old traditions of Telangana.

Dr. Kota Neelima observed that while flowers are traditionally offered in worship to deities in many parts of the world, Telangana has a unique tradition of worshipping flowers themselves as manifestations of the divine.  She further stated that the Telangana government had sanctioned Rs. 10 crore towards the organisation of Bathukamma celebrations.
