Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to bring revolutionary changes to the education sector, Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said, stressing that integrating modern technology with traditional teaching methods can improve students’ learning abilities and make the functioning of educational institutions more efficient. The minister formally launched ‘Brilliance AI,’ an AI-powered software suite developed in Hyderabad for educational institutions, at Taj Deccan in Banjara Hills on Sunday.

The software suite is designed to offer a range of services tailored to the needs of educational institutions. It enables the use of AI in key academic activities, including question paper preparation and answer-sheet evaluation. The platform also provides text- and voice-based features to help students clarify their doubts. Another key feature is its ability to analyse students’ academic progress and generate performance reports for parents. These solutions are expected to help assess students’ learning levels, identify their strengths and highlight areas that require improvement.

Minister Sridhar Babu said technology was ushering in significant changes in education. He expressed satisfaction over the growing use of educational technology by students for practice and learning, adding that AI-powered solutions could improve the learning process while enhancing the efficiency of teachers and educational institutions. The minister emphasized the need to introduce modern technological solutions to address challenges faced by educational institutions. However, he cautioned that data security and privacy must receive equal importance alongside the adoption of AI.

Referring to the NEET question paper leak controversy, he said the incident had further highlighted the need to prevent data breaches. He called for stronger security standards across digital systems to ensure that information relating to students and educational institutions remained protected. He also stressed that information security and privacy must be key considerations in the establishment of data centers.

Sridhar Babu urged stakeholders to carefully evaluate whether AI tools were operating responsibly. He said it was important not only to adopt new technologies but also to anticipate the challenges associated with their use. Responsibility, transparency and accountability, he added, were essential to the effective deployment of AI. The minister further noted that modern technology played a crucial role in data analytics and digital security systems.

Citing the EduTech 2025 survey, Sridhar Babu said 77 per cent of children using educational technology relied on it for practice and learning. He said the figure reflected the growing importance of technology in education and underlined the need to encourage solutions that deliver tangible benefits to students. With AI adoption increasing across the education sector, the minister said institutions must focus on providing students with better learning experiences while safeguarding their digital information. He called for the effective use of modern technology to ensure that its benefits reached students, teachers and parents, while maintaining robust standards of data security and privacy.
