Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based systems across government departments to improve administrative efficiency, strengthen monitoring mechanisms, and enhance delivery of public services. The instructions were issued during a high-level review meeting on Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) operations and public perception of government services held at the Chief Minister’s camp office on Monday.
Emphasising technology-driven governance, the Chief Minister asked officials to establish an integrated digital framework capable of consolidating data collected from drones, CCTV surveillance networks, and satellite-based monitoring systems. He said such real-time data integration would enable quicker decision-making, improve departmental coordination, and help the government respond proactively to emerging issues.
Naidu also stressed the importance of preventive governance in light of recurring accidents and mishaps reported across the State. Calling for stricter vigilance and improved safety protocols, he directed officials to conduct a detailed study of safety practices followed in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, India’s largest fireworks manufacturing hub, to prevent similar explosions at firecracker units in Andhra Pradesh. The review comes amid growing concerns over industrial safety following recent accident incidents.
With summer approaching, the Chief Minister instructed authorities to ensure adequate drinking water facilities at RTC bus stations across the State to safeguard passenger welfare during rising temperatures. He underlined that public convenience measures must be implemented proactively rather than reactively.
On welfare delivery, Naidu made it clear that there should be zero lapses in pension distribution, particularly in vulnerable habitations identified as Swarna Gramas and Swarna Wards. He directed officials to closely monitor last-mile delivery mechanisms to ensure beneficiaries receive pensions without delays or administrative hurdles.
During the meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that the WhatsApp-based “Mana Mitra” citizen service platform has now been expanded to offer 953 services, significantly widening access to government schemes and grievance redressal mechanisms. Naidu directed departments to undertake extensive public awareness campaigns so that citizens can fully utilise these digital services.
Reiterating his government’s focus on technology-led governance, the Chief Minister said the effective use of AI and real-time data systems would play a crucial role in improving transparency, efficiency, and citizen satisfaction in public administration across Andhra Pradesh.
