Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday conducted a review meeting at the State Secretariat with officials of key revenue-generating departments, directing them to work aggressively towards achieving the government’s revenue targets for the 2026-27 financial year.
According to officials, Andhra Pradesh recorded State Own Revenues (SOR) of Rs 1,10,643 crore during the 2025-26 financial year, compared to Rs 1,04,345 crore in 2024-25, registering a growth of nearly 6 percent.
The government has now set an ambitious target of Rs 1,27,506 crore for the 2026-27 financial year. The Chief Minister instructed all departments to align their strategies and administrative mechanisms to meet the enhanced targets without burdening citizens unnecessarily.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that GST collections contributed Rs 33,679 crore during 2025-26, while the Mines Department generated Rs 10,300 crore. Revenue from the Stamps and Registrations Department stood at Rs 11,047 crore during the same period.
Chandrababu Naidu emphasised that every rupee earned by the government must be utilised effectively for public welfare and infrastructure development. He directed departments such as mines, excise, transport, commercial taxes and registrations to strengthen monitoring systems, plug leakages and improve digital governance mechanisms to enhance collections.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of balancing revenue growth with economic expansion and investment promotion. He reportedly asked officials to ensure that policy decisions encourage industrial growth, business activity and employment generation while simultaneously improving the state’s fiscal position.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister on ongoing reforms, digitisation initiatives and measures being implemented to improve compliance and reduce revenue losses across departments.
