SCCL inaugurates 300 KW solar plant at APHMEL

The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) on Wednesday inaugurated a 300 KW solar power plant at its subsidiary Andhra Pradesh Heavy Machinery & Engineering Limited (APHMEL) in Vijayawada.

SCCL CMD Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti, IAS, virtually inaugurated the solar facility from Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad. He also inaugurated newly constructed CC and RCC internal roads developed to improve infrastructure at the APHMEL plant.

The solar plant, established at a cost of Rs 1.24 crore, is expected to reduce APHMEL’s electricity expenses by around Rs 24 lakh annually. The company currently spends nearly Rs 60 lakh every year on power consumption for its manufacturing unit and residential colony.

Dr. Jyoti appreciated APHMEL’s record performance, with the company achieving its highest-ever turnover of Rs 63.13 crore and a net profit of Rs 23.33 crore this year.

As APHMEL enters its Golden Jubilee year, the SCCL CMD called for business diversification, adoption of modern technologies, and expansion into new industrial sectors. He assured continued support from SCCL to strengthen APHMEL’s growth and operations.
