Andhra Pradesh's Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) is transforming policing through artificial intelligence, with its CCTV360 surveillance platform helping police recover stolen vehicles, trace missing persons and solve criminal cases through real-time alerts.

The AI-powered system recently helped Guntur police crack a vehicle theft racket after a Honda Activa scooter stolen from Pattabhipuram was detected by an integrated CCTV camera. The alert enabled police to arrest the suspect, whose interrogation led to the recovery of seven stolen vehicles.

Similar successes have been reported in NTR district, where AI-generated alerts helped recover stolen vehicles from Vijayawada Two Town, Nandigama, AS Nagar and Vissannapeta police station limits. In Madanapalle, police solved a two-wheeler theft case registered in April using the surveillance network.

According to official data, CCTV360 has helped recover 81 stolen vehicles over the past four months. The platform has also assisted in tracing 73 missing persons and identifying 52 accused involved in various criminal cases.

Facial recognition technology has further strengthened investigations. It helped locate a missing woman in Mylavaram after conventional searches failed, while a missing girl in SR Pet was traced within hours. Investigators also tracked a missing person from Reddygudem by analysing vehicle movements captured by the AI network.

The state currently has 14,750 CCTV cameras integrated with RTGS. Combining artificial intelligence, facial recognition, vehicle tracking and real-time analytics, CCTV360 has become a key pillar of Andhra Pradesh's technology-driven policing strategy, enabling faster investigations and improving public safety through intelligence-led law enforcement.

One of the most remarkable successes came earlier this month in Chirala, Bapatla district. A six-month-old infant was abducted while sleeping beside his mother, who survives by collecting waste paper. Police turned to RTGS CCTV360 for assistance. By analysing footage from AI-enabled cameras and tracking the suspect’s movements, the system generated real-time alerts that enabled police to rescue the infant and arrest the accused within 24 hours, reuniting the child with his mother.
