The Congress government has initiated the establishment of an IT Knowledge Hub on approximately 450 acres in the vicinity of Puppalguda. This new project is expected to generate employment for five lakh youth in its first phase.

The decision was made during a high-level meeting held at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat, chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, and attended by Ministers Dudilla Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, along with Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari and senior officials from the Industries and Revenue Departments.

The ministers directed the officials to begin immediate steps for establishing the IT Hub, which will be developed using the available land in and around Puppalguda. The government had earlier allocated land in this area for MLAs, MPs, IAS officers, and various cooperative societies, including the Revenue Officials' Society and the Special Police Mutual Cooperative Society. However, the officials brought to the attention of the sub-committee a recent Supreme Court verdict that annulled land allotments to several societies within Puppalguda limits.

Despite this, officials confirmed that around 250 acres of land owned by the Industrial Corporation, adjacent to the previously allocated land, remain viable. Together, these parcels provide approximately 450 acres available for development in the first phase of the IT Knowledge Hub.

The ministerial sub-committee emphasized Hyderabad's ongoing role in shaping global IT trends—from the foundation of Hi-Tech City under former Chief Minister Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy, to the evolution of the Knowledge Hub and the Financial District. The ministers emphasized on Hyderabad’s readiness to lead in emerging technologies  like Artificial Intelligence, underlining that the city’s economic momentum is unstoppable.

The proposed IT Knowledge Hub at Puppalguda aims to accelerate Telangana’s technological growth and sustain Hyderabad’s legacy as a leading innovation hub. The ministers stressed that this initiative will play a pivotal role in empowering the youth and reinforcing Hyderabad’s reputation as a global center for digital excellence.
