Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of engaging in vindictive politics merely to divert public attention from its own failures. Speaking at a protest organised by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) in front of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Hyderabad on Thursday, the Minister condemned the inclusion of senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the charge sheet related to the National Herald case.
He questioned the motive behind reviving a 12-year-old case, suggesting that it was a deliberate move to silence the Congress party for raising its voice against pressing national issues such as rising inflation, the falling value of the rupee in global markets, and increasing unemployment. Sridhar Babu alleged that false cases were being filed against the Gandhi family—who had sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence—out of sheer political malice.
He asserted that the BJP is attempting to demoralise the Congress party through retaliatory actions. He urged the ruling party to abandon its vindictive politics and instead focus on addressing the real challenges faced by the people. No matter how many cases are filed, Sridhar Babu affirmed, the Congress party will continue to fight on behalf of the people with unwavering determination.
